Sophia Grausso
Sorrentino
Big believer in keeping the promises we make to ourselves and long time lover of the long shot.
Sophia is a writer of grants, poetry, and prose, though she tries not to limit herself. A 2024 graduate from Fordham University, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies, as well as a specialization in Creative Writing. She is passionate about interdisciplinary art which brings people closer to the world around them. Sophia hopes to use her passion for grant-writing and fundraising to create lasting and effective change that works for real communities. She furthermore has an interest in non-profit publishing endeavors, and enjoys creating and distributing her own mini-zines. She hopes to publish larger zine works as she continues to write post graduation. Sophia is an alumnus of the National Scholastic Arts and Writing Organization, holding a silver key in poetry.
Beginning in 2020, Grausso began going by the surname Sorrentino. Following a lifelong distaste for her surname and the perfect opportunity for a pseudonym, she uses Sorrentino in creative spaces and for publication.
Chosen for her Great-Great Grandmother, she attempts to return the name to the women in her family, claim it as her own, and close some of the distance between us.
